Fwd: Finding The Best Maternity Outfits

By Gardelee Benandanio

So you are about to become a mother, but once you begin thinking about your waistline and belly expanding you find that you become very concerned about what you can wear. You fear looking less than your spectacularly fashioned self. Fear not, many women know this feeling quite well, in fact, several will tell you that the idea of maternity wear left them with some dread.

The first thing you should do is raid your own closet. You might find that you have more than a few outfits that will flatter your growing waistline. Especially tops, you might find some that should be able to work for a few months before you have to start stocking up on tops that give you a little more room.

Another option is to rummage your spouse's closet, you will usually find some nice roomy t-shirts, for the latter part of your second trimester and these will always look nice when you wear a pair of leggings or tights with them. These tips will save you a lot of money especially if money is an issue, so instead of spending a fortune on maternity wear, you can actually save up to buy cute items for your little baby boy or girl.

Let's take a look at the what you should shop for and how you should shop when you are finally ready to shop. The first thing you you should do is not divert too far from your own personal sense of style, if you have a preference for pants over dresses or skirts over pants stick to that, and if like certain colors go with that, don't get caught up in trying to look different and choose clothing style that don't match your personality.

You might also want to check out plus size stores if you don't normally shop there, as the clothes will be more economical and you should find some pieces that will serve you well, right into your second trimester. Once you get into your final trimester you might not be able to get away with wearing these as they may get tight, so then you can actually buy a few pieces of actual maternity clothing, no need to break the bank though or buy a tonne of clothing as you will only need them for three months anyway.

Remember pregnancy is usually a time to give up heels. This can be very hard especially if you love them and consider them a part of your swag, so to speak, but you don't need to put all that pressure on your feet. You should start scouring shoe stores for cute flats, or if you must wear heels go for, two inches the most or platforms with a thick base as these help to give support. You may find that you need to up your shoe size too, as your feet sometimes swell during pregnancy.
