Parents personally making their baby's baby mobile may not only save money but parents have the opportunity to choose what shapes, colors, objects and design they want to make and include in making it. Other than that, parents can also choose what type of baby mobile they want to make from a list of different kinds of baby mobiles. Also, personally making a baby mobile for their baby gives parents the freedom to set the length of baby mobiles that they have to make and whether or not to include music or sound to that baby mobile which may improve their baby's sense of hearing

Steps in making simple and inexpensive baby mobiles:

1. Typically, the first step in making baby mobiles is to assemble all the materials that is needed. Here are the things that should be prepared in making baby mobiles, a pair of scissors, either felt paper or fabric of different color, thread or yarn of different color that preferably matches the colors of felt paper or fabric, cardboard, pencil, white thread, buttons that are of different shapes and sizes, either bamboo circle or sewing hoop(those that can be bought many local craft stores) stick glue and glue gun.

2. Prepare a cardboard and draw patterns or shapes that you want to include in your baby mobile. Cut out those patterns/shapes.

3. Deciding on what color combination you want to use for your shapes and patterns, match the colored felt paper or fabric and the patterns and shapes and press them lightly together. Then follow the patterns and shapes to cut out the colored felt paper or fabric with the use of a pair of scissors.

4. Using the glue gun and stick glue, paste together the cardboard pattern and felt paper or fabric patterns. Then, prepare all the patterns with different colors, if you wish to fold the other shapes or patterns you may do so. You can also sew in different colored buttons for added color and style.

5. Depending on the sequence you want them to be, arrange the patterns accordingly. Then tie the thread of different color into the bamboo circle or sewing hoop. Next is you can start placing your patterns into the thread according to the arrangement that you have planned by making a hole on them or sewing them. Also make sure to tie the thread to ensure placement.

6. Your baby mobile is now ready and should be placed either on the ceiling or at the side of the crib.

Your baby's safety should always be the priority in making a baby mobile. If you choose to make a baby mobile that is within the reach of your baby, make sure to avoid putting object that are sharp, easily ingested and toxic. Remember to make the baby mobile as durable as possible and parts should not be easily removed to avoid possible injury to the baby.
